Michelle Peterson: Protecting Our Children

IMG_6700.jpeg

What is my WHY?

Michelle Peterson is a middle American mother who is tired of being the silent majority.
She is a fierce defender of our God given rights, Christian Values, and our children - by
all means and at any cost.
Michelle's son, Andrew, was the unfortunate victim of grooming by a high school teacher
in 2010, but she fought for justice for her son and other children and achieved the first;
and to date (until Oct 2023), only grooming conviction in the United States. The 3-year
ordeal was hellacious and a battle at the local States Attys office. She continued to fight
for her son and for his safety. This “man” was going to take plea deal in Aug of 2013,
but God had other plans. He decided he was going to go to trial. The judge was irate
that the teacher changed his mind! He lit up the atty and the teacher yelling at them
stating we could have gone to trial that summer in Aug of 2010 instead of him taking the
supposed plea deal. In July of 2013, unlawful grooming became a law in Illinois. The
teacher was ultimately charged with solicitation of a minor and unlawful grooming.
Michelle met sex trafficking investigator, Amy Coello from Texas in Jan 2023, and she
told Michelle that she and her team use the unlawful grooming conviction Michelle and
her son got for all of the trafficking cases she tries as they have to prove the grooming
in order to prove the trafficking. The latest case she just completed when Michelle met
Amy was the La Luz del Mundo case in California which is a church cult. They busted
123 different sex trafficking cells. Amy said we need to work on legislation to prevent
someone charged with grooming from being able to plea down to lesser charges.
Michelle is currently working on model legislation with her state rep, Jed Davis, in Illinois
whereby someone charged with grooming and/or trafficking cannot take a plea
deal…otherwise known as Andrew’s Law. It would also amend the sex offender registry
to include places of business that cater all or in part to children—this would include
Chick E. Cheese, Dave and Buster’s, 6 Flags, movie theaters, privately owned play
areas at the malls, etc—as places of business where these offenders cannot be allowed
to prey on their victims.

Here's how it all started: https://rumble.com/v3xue14-nbc-5-investigates.html
According to Amy, Michelle's persistence in fighting for justice for her son has resulted
in saving many thousands of children around the country from being victimized by
grooming predators whose goal is to molest or traffic their victims.
She has been working with Florida attorneys and a paralegal named Ali Hopper who
worked with 2 reps, Bankson and Yarkosky. Florida has signed into law their first
grooming law. We also worked with Rep Mark Thompson from Iowa on a grooming law.
The Iowa bill passed unanimously in the house and senate. Iowa now also has a
grooming law in place. Reps from Arizona reached out to FL and now Arizona also has
a grooming law in place. Georgia, through the work of another mother, Susan Cobb,
now also has a grooming law.
